About Us

The New Zealand Trotting Guide itself has existed for as long as 25 years in booklet
form.

The purpose, and main focus of the book has been to publish trial and workout
form for the punter, particularly in the pre-internet days when this vital information was
not readily available.

In latter years the NZ Trotting Guide has changed hands once or twice, until I bought
the company in December 2006.

Having worked as a racing journalist with Friday Flash for a number of years, I am
aware of how difficult it can be to succeed in the tough market of racing publications.

When the Flash came to an end last year it was a shock, as the only national racing
paper, with such an historical background, was regarded as the "bible" for the racing
public.

My immediate thoughts upon taking over the NZ Trotting Guide were to move into the
web and an online version.

Like it, or loathe it, the way of the world is now at our fingertips on the world wide web.
We all utilise its incredible scope and endless boundaries on a daily basis.

It therefore makes sense to take the NZ Trotting Guide from a modest little booklet,
into a more upmarket version on the internet.

The NZ Trot Guide online is structured to achieve precise and quality information.

The major focus is to provide the NZ Trotting Guide booklet online, as a PDF file by subscription, which
includes a mammoth amount of information from workouts and trials, also racemeetings,
including expert selections and stories, and TAB information.

The NZ Trotting Guide prides itself on information, both factual and precise.
Many hours are spent watching the form at workouts and trials, in my humble opinion
around 70 percent of where the real "winners" come from.

Race form is undoubtedly important, too.
But in harness racing in New Zealand a massive number of winners come from the
undisclosed race form, being workouts and trials.

I hope you enjoy surfing the site on a regular basis.

Regards!
